Away from the Madding Crowd

Situated in the undiscovered Lot-et-Garonne, 14km from Marmande, in a secluded corner of a small village, Peyrenègre offers you the opportunity to relax and recharge your batteries in the heart of the countryside. Peyrenègre means black stone in the local dialect and is set in 3.5 hectares acres. The house sits on a hillside and is surrounded by orchards and farmland which is planted with wheat and sunflowers. The views from Peyrenègre are exceptional and the sunrises and sunsets are spectacular.. The rolling landscape stretches out to the nearby larger village of St Barthelemy, changing colour with the seasons. Labretonie itself is a small village with a mainly farming community. The region is famous for nuts, plums and tomatoes which are grown in profusion around the village.

Walking, cycling, birdwatching, fishing, sightseeing, shopping, wine tasting and dining out are all possibilities for the holiday maker…..and so is lazing by the pool with a good book ! It is situated at the end of a private road and the only noises are the birds and the occasional tractor working on the surrounding fields. The grounds have mature trees on all sides and there is plenty of produce to share from the walnut, hazel, fig, cherry and apricot trees.
